Sherlock Holmes – Silent Movie with Live Organ Accompaniment

April 24, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Presented by Michigan Theatre in partnership with the Ann Arbor Chapter of the American Guild of Organists

“Featuring the return of former Michigan Theater organist Steven Ball!

Considered lost until a negative was found at La Cinémathèque française in 2014, this only known print of the silent film is a vital piece of the history of Sherlock Holmes on screen. This newly-restored edition represents the sole appearance of William Gillette’s Holmes on film.

The Michigan Theater and the Ann Arbor AGO welcome back Steven Ball, former Michigan Theater staff organist & member of the Ann Arbor AGO. Dr. Ball is Organist and Director of Outreach at Historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, home of the world’s largest pipe organ. All proceeds from the screening will benefit the Michigan Theater’s organ restoration fund & the Ann Arbor AGO’s community outreach programs.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $13 for students/seniors/US veterans, and $11 for Michigan Theater and AGO members.

VIP tickets available!
Patrons who purchase the VIP package are invited to a special pre-show champagne reception from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Michigan Theater grand foyer. The VIP package also includes reserved seating for the film screening at 7:00 PM.”
